We are all only too well aware that Boris didn’t cut us much slack on the holiday front, just yet. Portugal or… Portugal, anyone? With the prospect of who-knows-how-long a wait in Arrivals, when we get back to the UK.
So we have instead been escaping in our minds, by burning this beautiful candle, in the Beauty Bible office (well, Jo’s office, in truth). It has been created by resident Dior perfumer François Demachy to conjure up the vibe and celebrate one of the world’s most lusted-after hotels, the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, on the French Riviera.
And as Jo can attest, it does just that. (She was lucky enough to stay at the Eden-Roc, once upon a time, back in the day when journalists were whisked around the world for launches – and it was an utterly unforgettable, glamorous experience.) Imagine salt-misted air, contrasted against woody background. Imagine aqua seas, and languid limbs – and all those things we’re still dreaming of.
There’s a Dior Eden-Roc fragrance to match – same airiness, but as if shot through with sunbeams of light, priced from £99 for 40ml spray. You can also indulge with the Eden-Roc Body Crème/£95 for 150ml, together with the the most gorgeous, spoiling, skin-softening Liquid Hand and Body Soap/£55 for 350ml.
Luxuriously-priced, oh yes, and then some – but since we can’t actually GO anywhere, worth raiding the travel piggy bank for? While we’re still dreaming of the real thing…
